Another car driven by Keiichi Tsuchiya: the Advan Carrot Racing AE86 with which the Drift King boosted his carreer by taking 6 wins in a row during the 1984 season of the Fuji Freshman Race Series.
I do not have enough pictures to skin the suit and helmet worn by Tsuchiya-san in 1984 or the Advan tires actually used on this car. So I included recent suits, helmet and tires (Advan A050) – all scratch-made.
P.S. In this very entertaining video you can have a glimpse of the real car driven under the rain by the master:
On the web these days every car is ‘iconic’ and every driver is a ‘legend’. When I started this kind of blog I promised myself to stay away from those words – even when they do mean something real for a particular car and for a particular driver.
So here is the Toyota Trueno of Tsuchiya-san a.k.a. the Drift King, as seen from time to time in the automotive Best Motoring / Hot Version show.
If you are not familiar with the Japanese car culture, especially drift and touge, it’s time to surf the web and fill that gap ^^.
This is a simple skin, although there was some work on the bonnet texture, and on the suit and helmet.
This is another skin for AC based on a drift livery: the RS*R car with the drift legend Max Orido at the wheel engaged in the Fomula Drift Asia 2012 championship. The skin matches the livery of the Singapore event as far as possible (the game bodywork being not exactly the same as the real car).
The car comes with Neova tires that took a long time to make. Yokohama do put an awful lot of safety markings on their tires ^^.

Here are tow skins based on designs by Sha_do for two French drifting teams about 10 years ago. I skinned them for the fun of it because my drifting skills are close to 0… I hope some drifters will enjoy them.
This skin is based on the K-one Racing #17 car of the 2015 86/BRZ race. It was driven by Manabu “Max” Orido, double Super GT champion in the GT300 class.
The Initial D ads are of course fitting for a Toyota 86. I am not a big fan of the shows but they do justice to the cars and spirit of racing.
