Porsche 911 RSR – Gelo Racing – John Fitzpatrick – European GT 1975

During most of the 70’s, Georg Loos’ racing team was a serious contender in GT series. Backed by the factory and with top drivers, they won many races in European circuits.

Gelo Racing engaged up to three RSRs during the 1975 season. This skin is based on Fitzpatrick’s car at the Norisring European GT race, which he won.

They raced in a few DRM events as well, but with only non-German drivers they did not gain any championship points. This would change in 1976 when foreigners like Hezemans and Schenken (and Wollek for Kremer) were allowed to have a German license.

Porsche 911 RSR – Max Moritz Fotoquelle – Reinhardt Stenzel – DRM 1975

Let’s continue with a well-known livery from the German championship of the mid-70’s.

Porsche 911 RSR - Max Moritz Fotoquelle - Reinhard Stenzel - DRM 1975 (3)

This car was prepared by the Max Moritz tuner from Reutlingen. It was engaged in DRM from 74 to 76 without any change in the color scheme.

This skin is based on the 1975 Norisring races. During the 74 and 75 season, it was driven by Reinhardt Stenzel, who was quite successful with several wins and as many podiums.

If you have any good picture of Stenzel’s helmet in 74 or 75, please share. The helmet skin included in this release is guesswork from quite small and unclear pictures.

Porsche 911 RSR – Kremer-Vaillant – Bob Wollek – DRM 1975

This is my first skin for a historic Porsche in Assetto Corsa. The color scheme should ring a bell in the head of any racing fan, even not familiar with the European 70’s scene. It has been associated with a private team and a private driver who became symbols of Porsche racing in the 70’s and beyond: the Köln-based Kremer works and Bob Wollek.

Bob Wollek was one of the most successful Porsche drivers and one of the greatest ever in endurance racing. If you are not convinced, have a look at some basics facts there^^: http://www.racingsportscars.com/driver/Bob-Wollek-F.html

The car was mainly engaged in the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft but not exclusively. The skin is based on the livery of the ETCC Zandvoort Trophy race where Wollek shared the wheel with van Lennep.
